Freeride World Tour
In the beginning of 2014, polar legend Børge Ousland and young adventurer Vincent Colliard will start a long-term expedition project aiming to become the first people to cross the 20 largest glaciers on earth.
THE COMMITTMENT
Glaciers are in fast decline due to rising temperatures, causing threat of long-term sea level rise. They are crucial as a fresh water source for millions of people worldwide. This is why glaciers need to be better known, considerated and protected. The world needs to find technical and political solutions to the environemental crisis. This expedition will be an incubator to that process, a visual example and a window to what is happening. To achieve this, they will seek to combine Børge’s considerable polar experience with Vincent’s youth and determination. Bringing knowledge and inspiration to a larger audience will be an integral part of the project.

ACCORDING TO BØRGE OUSLAND
DURING THE NORTHERN PASSAGE MOVIE EXPEDITION, 2010
French Vincent Colliard, 27, is a strong adventurer with previous expedition experience in Norway, Patagonia and Himalaya. In 2010, he was a crewmember aboard « Northern Passage » with his mentor Børge Ousland during the first historic circumnavigation of the Arctic ocean in one season. They also have been partners on other expeditions such as the first ski crossing, in 2012, of isolated Nordauslandet in Spitsbergen, one of the 20 biggest glaciers on earth.
It takes strong willingness and sometimes a lot of patience to complete an exploration.
Our team is not linked to any kind of organisation, be it in the sport, competition, associative or corporate area. Our initiatives only belong to us.
It is not to perform better. For us, in extreme conditions and sometimes in critical situations, being able to trust your instinct is what keeps you alive.
We know were we come from and what we value, and that is what makes us move forward. Nothing else can do.
