How does the watch measure it? What is the UV Index?
The AlpinerX has a UV sensor under the dial.
UV are the Ultra-Violet rays of the sun light, outside of the visible spectrum. At high exposure, the UV rays can damage the skin and increase risks of skin disease like cancer.
The UV index is a classification, from 1 to 12, of the intensity of the UV in the sunlight:
- Low: 1-2
- Medium: 3-5
- High: 6-12
- Very High: 11-12+
